Easy Peasy Pizza Dough
This recipe came to me via my daughter Anna who makes homemade pizza probably once a week. It is not only super simple, but it produces the most fabulous crust. In addition to the dough, I have included two of my favorite toppings recipes, Margherita and Prosciutto with Creme Fraiche and Caramelized Onions. But go crazy with your own fabulous creations.
Ingredients
-430 grams of flour (I am using weight because this is how it was communicated to me but this is about 2 cups). Split between 1 cup bread flour and 1 cup all purpose
-1.5 cups warm water
-1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
-1.5 teaspoons salt
Method
Mix everything together in a bowl with a wooden spoon until it comes together.
Cover and let rise on the counter for 24 hours
When your dough is ready, gently, and without over-handling, transfer the dough onto the plate that is lightly floured. Flip it and coat the other side of the dough. You want to cover any sticky spots with a light coating of flour. Gently, but working quickly, pick the pizza dough up and begin to work it into a circular shape, dusting off any extra flour. Gently stretch and arrange on a prepared pizza peel or on a pan lined with parchment paper. If using a peel, give it a bit of a shake to make sure the dough isn’t sticking in any spots.
Proceed with toppings.
